I play it at my cousin-in-laws, its not bad, i wouldnt buy one myself.
But i have heard Insane comments about Gears Of War ..

If i would buy any hardware right mow, it would be an iPod

But you work for Microsoft i thought you love everything they do?

As for the question, I'm not going to buy xbox 360, Seen way to many bad reviews, plus i don't really like Microsoft, I'm waiting for the PS3(60GB HDD one) to come out in United Kingdom (March), because then I can still play online games for free unlike in xbox $50 just to get on the net with it and that's not including ISP charges. at least PS is free to hook up.

I have one and at the moment i'm playing Just Cause. Just found all the packages and it's great flying about the island. The island is huge - takes ages flying from one side to another.

Also loved Dead Rising, but didn't enjoy GOW much. I much prefer using a mouse in a shooter.

This is because the video is in a format that the Xbox does not understand (like Xvid, divx etc). You can resolve this by using a service that does on the fly transcoding on your PC. I use TVeristy. http://www.tversity.com/
As long as you have installed all needed codecs to play your videos on the PC, TVersity will on the fly translate/stream this to your Xbox 360 .

Guess you've been avoiding the internet then, because if the 360 is getting bad reviews, then PS3 reviews must be straight 0's. And sure, PS3's online is free, but you get what you pay for: A broken online experience nowhere near as good as the 360's.

I have not the slightest idea what to do with an Xbox 360, but I my kids seem to love it. All I did was hook it up to the TV for them, they can't be bothered to read directions.
I did notice that it sounds pretty loud. I guess I am remembering back to the old Atari days where there was no noise.
Are they supposed to be load? It sounds like a loud fan, or a loud drive.

yeah, it's just a loud fan.

and speaking of Atari, I still have mine (along with a ZX Spectrum, dendy, NES, SNES, N64 and a DreamCast) and I even play it play it sometimes. I have one of these old versions where games were stored on tapes and you had to wait anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes for them to load

The iPhone won't be out in Europe, nor will it be affordable for me, and there is no real news about the new(er) x360's release date. So I will buy my x360 tomorrow when I go to the store.

WOW PS3 must really suck it got 8.8 out of 10 and xbox got 8.4 out of 10 on a cnet review.
