I am a moderator, among 23 other moderators, who is stuck in a terrible situation. The Main Administrator of our board has left us more than two months ago with more than 91,000 members and an extremely fast-paced forum (v3.5.4) without further notice.
We do not have admin permissions to add/delete any new/old sections, promote/ban members, update the board, fix vulnerabilities, maintian the board cache, etc. The other problem is that activating new members is done automatically (about 150 new members/day, we don't know how!) and we cannot control it, worsening thereby the whole problem.
We sincerely don't want to abandon our positions, although we thought seriously to do so, as the situation is getting worse every day, but would like to know if there is a way to gain access to the adminCP somehow, then when the board owner returns, we will give back that control to him.
Our main concern is that some members knew that our Administrator is absent and are threatening to takeover/hack the board. This would be a catastrophe . The forum has an excellent standing in the business world in the Middle East and we don't want it to end in this way. Our loyalty to the forum and its Administrator prevents us from deserting it.
I respect the rules of your respectable forum, but would like to know if you can help or if you have any suggestions that can help us protect our forum.
