Why does people feel the need to report when a site is down?

Actually, we're having a strange issue where some members are seeing a page that is blank except for the text http://www.example.com in the upper left of the screen. It even shows up in the AdminCP for some admins.

          Anyone seen this before?

I just made some tests via keynote.com traceroute from more then 50 agents across globe is pointing to:
              11 30 ms 30 ms 30 ms lw-dc1-dist5-ge1.rtr.liquidweb.com [209.59.157.62]
              12 31 ms 30 ms 30 ms www.theadminzone.com [69.16.210.87]
SO i assume, there is no domain level problems.
Ping is fine from these agents.

              However,
69.16.210.87 PTR record: www.theadminzone.com. [TTL 1800s] [A=None] *ERROR* A record for www.theadminzone.com. does not point back to original IP.
Is theadminzone on shared ip or dedicated ip ?

If shared IP then nothing to worry about, I think there should be some problems out there on your server or something screwed.

Please do notify here, about right problems.

                  It's a server side error.

A check check with HTTP Live headers shows that I'm getting a vblastactivity cookie which means the PHP code is running.

                  I do get www.example.com

If plugins are disabled check the templates followed by the files starting with
                  index.php, global.php, includes/init.php, includes/class_core.php, includes/functions.php and so forth.

http://theadminzone.com/forums/clear.gif (non PHP scripts are still servable)

Yep, right now it looks as though Apache is not sending the proper headers, I'm getting the option to download index.php. :-\

I think we finally have it sorted - according to my host there was some kind of "issue" between Zend and PHP and they ran a script to fix it.

I hate it when people post on here telling everyone that vbulletin.com was down.
It's like they feel special for telling us. Maybe it's a good thing because then we wouldn't know when vbulletin is down.

I also see no reason why people post here that a site that we're not hosting is unreachable. Contact the site owner by mail or something; but hey .. whatever
