    w00p - my first post

I used to be a UBB-er, till I decided to try out vb 2. Found out it rocked, had all the stuff I had to hack into ubb, and decided to purchase a license

Count me in! I couldn't be happier with the switch. The new messages and new members on my Board have almost doubled since I switched from UBB.

I've heard that supposedly UBB6 runs slower than the 5.X version. If that's true....not good.

                A 50k posts UBB 5.xx is faster than a 50k posts UBB 6.xx.

i was a UBB 5.45c'er for about, ummm... like a year i think. Then I switched to vB about 3 months ago? Something like that.

                  vb doesn't suck.

UBB made my server crash and burn, vB does really well though!

                            Mark Me down....

I followed Smachol up there. He had the RC5 installed on his test board a couple months ago. I tested the heck out of the other when it went gold and well... Needless to say I followed him and glad I did. I only wish more people would give vBulletin a shot first and ask some questions before mistakes are made. But as with anything, they already have .cgi access and maybe not the mySQL/PHP. So they go that route. Then later end up with the mySQL and vBulletin anyhow. Either way I like vBulletin and I think the support and this community of users is great too.

I was also a 5.45c'er (2 licence) when I looked at changing server I could see the nightmare of moving the 10,000 UBB files (threads) accross. So I looked at VB. I think 2.0 beta just came out when I registered. I ask my members if they prefered VB or UBB, most said they perfer UBB, I looked at VB demo for about 2 weeks and had a play to see all the features.

My members have grown 100% since I installed VB and they love it -- so do I.
