Personally I don't use one at all. I check regularly using the online scan on the trendmicro homepage.
I've heard good things about AntiVir though.

I am looking for a very light load antivirus that won't use as much resources. I had Norton (every version since I was introduced to it) then ditched it for Avast, and then ditched that for AVG. We'll see how it goes.

      Can anyone make any suggestions?

I'm using AVG right now. It's the lightest thing I've found so far, and that's what I want I could go without using one at all, but I'd rather have a little app running in the background just in case.

I use antivir for free, but if I bought something I'd get antiviruskit 2006.. it uses 2 engines so the test scores are extremely high

                j/k about my vote rofl

I used to use AVG but it never caught 3 different viruses roaming my computer. I installed antivir and they were gone in 30 minutes

                      Symantec (Corporate Version of Norton).

Its great, doesn't hog resources like Norton did.

I use NOD32 and I'm very impressed with it.
