10 year old post on a vBulletin site

First message ever posted on my site, dated March 24 1996. Converting old WWWBoard posts I found to vBulletin last year was an adventure.

I think it's the oldest post on a vBulletin-based message board. Is there anything older out there?

When I converted from wwwthreads I had a whole bunch of threads with a date in 1970. If you search http://visualbasicforum.com you'll probably hit one or 2. We changed them as we came across them, but, do to the amount of posts converted I am sure I missed a few.

          Wow, that's ancient.
The oldest posts I've seen on forum so far have been from 2002.
          1996 and 1970?
That was long time before I ever showed interest in computer or had internet access^^

How did you import your wwwboard? I still have mine from the 90s and use it as an archive.

It wasn't easy. There was three conversions in the process; WWWboard to WebBBS to phpBB to vBulletin. Check out the thread for links to the converters, and other steps that might be necessary, like batch cleaning certain tags. It's a long, ugly process, but it's worth it.

If only I convert DiscusBoard Free messages to vBulletin ...
