vBulletin 3.5 + Mail System ?

I search for a mail system that save its data on the filesystem or in separated database (not the same one that vBulletin uses) and users cann't register an email account if they havn't vBulletin ID.

I know there are vB Mail System, and I don't prefare to make my database about 5000 MB (5 MB for each email account X 1000 users).

So I want a system that use external database or the filesystem.

Google Mail has some type of beta where members can use thier service with an email address featuring your domain. You may want to explore that.

If you're referring to vBMS (my product), you can set quotas and not all the space is allocated at once. However, everything is stored in the database (and vB's database as well by necessity) which, for whatever reason, doesn't suit your requirements.

I prefare a script that can integrate with vB and my run from another account on the same server.

It seems very complex.

Personalyy I use Squirrel Mail and have for several years. Seems to be actively developed and has a small development community for addons.
