there is a big security problem for windows users at last count there was 57 diffenernt exploits of this problem. I suguest you go to <URL removed. Get your security fixes from MS> and download the update. an image shown to your on a web page or email can infect you. If you run this update it should make it safe.

I recommend everybody to only download files to fix security issues from the official web site's from Microsoft.com.

floris this is a real issue you can't protect against and there is no word from a fix from Microsoft until January 9th.

The patch has been made and posted by a reliable team and has been thoroughly tested and it can be uninstalled if desired.

I have installed it to all machines that I have access to.

Go read http://isc.sans.org/ and make your own choice to install this or not.

It's not really, try Ubuntu or if you prefer KDE use Kubuntu. It's very user friendly compared to all the other distributions and there is a good team behing the development.

Can I use Ubuntu on an NTFS partition? I only have one hard drive, but two partitions.

I'd like to try dual booting linux and windows sometime.. but i'm so unfamiliar with it I'm worried I might break things. of course the data on that partition is expendable, I dont care if I have to reformat it to another file system or anything.

Until you are happy - why not try a Live CD - you can get one for Kubuntu or Ubuntu

I'm downloading an ISO Image now though, of Ubuntu Install 5.10

Live CD is fine. If anyone wants one I'll happily send them within the UK, I have many left over for x36, PPC and amd64 from a talk I gave last year.

Great. I managed to dual boot successfully. But now I cant access the internet via ubuntu.. I use wifi.
