I think Firefox has a memory leak..

...because it's using 528 MB of RAM

Five tabs only: vB, vB admin CP, vB admin CP plugins, phpMyAdmin, this page. I was wondering why it was taking forever for pages on localhost to load.

edit: 538 MB as of this edit one minute later.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Firefox!

I won't ever used FF as a main browser due to its massive ram usage.

It's never used that much before, though.

I would rather use Firefox over IE if only for security. My desktop has 1 GB of RAM and my tablet 1.5 GB so I don't much care. And don't even make me start about using Opera.

But I digress. It's a lot of memory.

at 2GB, I'm struggling currently to run FireFox 1.5 at times. Plus it seems to only get worst everytime I use an external application from within FireFox, ie. Windows Media Player or Adobe Acrobat.

I haven't gotten anything over 150 so far (since upgrading to 1.5)... I recently hit 100MB a few days ago. Either way, this should be fixed asap, and I'm really surprised the Firefox team hasn't fixed this yet...

Probably logging bugs/fixes as possible before doing so? Maybe something'll pop out next week.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.

Probably they're facing the same hurdles IE devs face, and as FF grows in popularity it'll garner the same quirks, bugs and exploits.

For every page that IE views, FF requires more memory. And that shouldn't be so, as that shows poor form (anyone can design a program, but it takes more effort to make one with a light footprint).

5 tabs open, 1GB of memory here, using 50MB..... Never had a problem with Firefox, I REFUSE to use IE due to it's lack of... everything I like in Firefox!
