I want to point something out. That court 'report' is just the complaint filed by PP. It is NOT evidence. It is merely an accusation and only one side of the story. Complaints always tell the story in a light most favorable to the complainant, and doesnt mean that any of the allegations could be proven. Dont read the complaint and conclude Brian of VBA did all that. Its just an allegation, its not evidence or a court decision.Building my Automotive Forum Network...

Some folks don't know how to read a court document, and just conclude "guilty" from what's said on line one (or opening arguments in court). It's why we have juries to decide if XYZ is true or not, as the mob has little patience for the truth or justice in itself.
Since this was settled outside a jury vote, no ruling of guilt or innocence was made.
Problem here is we only have one side talking (or should I say bragging), which skews the presentation -- but doesn't change this very legal fact...
Until proven in a court of law a person is presumed to be innocent.

Guess we'll see if the evidence will prove Brian's innocence or guilt in the public arena in the near future.
All I wish to say here is this: I don't like what was done and how it was played out. IMO, it's childish and no one (and I mean no one) should have to stand accused without a voice to defend themselves -- be it being gagged or they're too poor to defend themselves. That could be anyone of us, no matter how rich or poor we are.
Let the community judge Brian by what he produced, and if he's guilty it's his work that will prove it (not some one sided legal document). If he's innocent, his work will again prove his accusers wrong.
This compare needs to be done, or anyone of us will face this crap, and some litigation happy bozo will put the screws into the entire modding community.

A code compare is the "jury" Brian never got, and one no court or other entity can put an injunction on to stop.
Just wait and let the coders do their search and let's see the REAL evidence before passing judgement.
If Brian is guilty, he'll face the jury of his own peers (which isn't pretty). If he's innocent, then we know who's the real guilty party and they'll face the jury of their peers too (which isn't pretty).
That's called: justice.

The Microsoft / Lindows story
I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with the Microsoft/Lindows story, but I'll cut it down to the basic facts.
Lindows, a windows-like GUI for Linux, came out a few years back. Well, good old M$ didn't like the fact that they were using the name Lindows, because it sounded too much like Windows. So, M$ sued.
Now, any copyright lawyer in the US would know that Lindows did not infringe on Windows, and Lindows thought the same, so they took them up on the fight. And, after several years, Lindows won. BUT, they still changed their name.
Why? Because after Microsoft lost the suit in the United States, they filed suit in every other country they were in. They played dirty legal games. Lindows (now Linshare) finally threw in the towel and changed their name because they knew they could not afford to fight Microsoft in every other country in the world.
So, yes, there are bullies out there.Comment
