No matter what you think of a domain name for a general board to purchase, you cannot get one! Why do you ask? Well it's because many people are making and having huge general discussion boards these days and so they've got all the good domains by their own hands. So you see, it's already tough to get a domain.

i already got a mobile phone forum @ http://www.extreme-mobile.com
but mobile phone forums seem to be closeing down all the time as they are just dead now a days, so i thought id open a general one to try and get more members as no one seems to post on the mobile one cos they maybe dont know much about the subject so they get there problems solved and dont come back.

so my theory was to have a general site where everyone will have something to talk about and then advertsie my mobile forum as a sister site.

just need something catchy, maybe if i use extreme-......... as a domain????

This is always hard, just keep it simple and try out combinations. If the nameforums or namecommunity is already taken, try a solid alternative like society ..

I'd have to agree. I'd drop a few of those forums until traffic picks up a bit. I know you want to cover most topics, but an empty forum is less inviting than one that has a few posts across a few forums.
