Can we ask vb.org questions here now, since the merge?

If not i apologize in advance..

I was just wondering who coded the portal at vbulletin.org?
I was looking to have it installed on my forums, as it works best in IE 7..
Of course very willing to pay..

    I wasn't aware of any vB.org/vB.com merge.

        vBulletin.org and vBulletinTemplates.com merged, but that's it.

The portal at vB.org is a custom job and not for general release.

(Although you can get essentially the same features, if not more, but using something like vBAdvanced. )

I went ahead and installed vBAdvanced, and the vba_gallery on my forums, looking pretty good with vB 3.5.0..

if vb.org and vb.com isnt merged, then how come vb.org can check if a member is a premium member at vb.com? (license control)
vb.org must be connected to vb.com's customer database.

Because they're hosted on the same server and also use the same customer database.

No, they are not. The two sites run independently with each other, and have not merged. In terms of "merging," as said here, it means the forums joined together, and they haven't.

The only "joined" part of vb.com and vb.org is the server, and the customer database in which allows customers can go between the both of them, plugins/hacks/mods on vb.org, and vb.com used for actual vBulletin assitance. But in order to get support from vb.org, you have to register there first. If they were merged, than you could join here or there and be a member of both, but that doesn't happen.

So no, they're not as "merged" as one would think.
Congratulations on the death of vBulletin, Internet Brands.

I'd think that if they were "merged" you'd be able to access them through one site or domain...

                        MGM out

Actually vB Advanced looks best in IE7.
The portal at vB.org has too much white in it
