I am still waiting on some of the small glitches to be worked before running vBulletin on our site out but I successfully imported over 11,000 members, and 100,000 posts from UBB with no problem.

      Straight Dope

I found all those comments on the Straight Dope message board interesting.

And the handling of Banned members and sock puppets was interesting.

Still waiting to get MySQL installed on my server before I can jump into the vB world though.

Roughly 5k users imported from UBB. Took a couple of tries before the import went smoothly. Still trying to tweak some speed issues.

Cold Steel, are there any statistics available about how much traffic your board is producing per month?
I am asking because I run a similiar Forum (UBB still, not that much postings (i purge often), but 20.000 pageviews a day) and traffic is a real concern for us since we must pay per GB traffic/bandwidth over here in Germany

            Any information is appreciated.

            Regards

People get tired of running a forum and *poof* it is gone. These posts are 2.5 years old.

Hehe, nope, we are still there
Having ~32.000 members and ~300.000 Postings now and some improvements in server equipment, but still running vB to our complete satisfaction.

But jeez times flies by, this thread really IS old
We still used to have UBB then and switched over to vB right on that month.

I wouldn't necessarily say revived, just poked with a stick. Revived would mean this thread has to pick up activity. There've been just 6 replies to the thread since the poking with a stick.

I'll poke it with a stick too.

I changed from UBB to VB shortly after this thread began...(I think! time sure does fly....)

My forums are still up and running...We hit our 500,000 post last week.

Made me think, anyone have a copy of vB1.1? I am curious to see what we started with again.
