    vBAdvance

I was thinking of using vBadvance but I don't feel comfortable hacking my forums. So I just have a few questions.

    1. Is there any risks involved in using vBadvance?

    2. Does installing vBadvance delete or change anything in vBulletin?

Yes you have to make some modifications to the source files, though minor, still changes.

If you do not want to hack your vBulletin files then have a look at vbPortal www.vbportal.com

This installs with no hacking required which also means when upgrading vBulletin you will not loose or need to re-hack the vB files.

During the install you are required to edit 6 source files.

Can vBadvance do anything that would make my forum less secure or less stable?

vbadvanced is fine, i used it myself for a version of my site, it works great.
i personally wouldn't recomend VBPortal i have had to fix a few peoples sites that were using it because of errors just with the portal and their style.

vbadvanced is pretty straightforward in my opinion

The only thing i'm worried about is that I want to be sure vBAdvance will not bring any security issues, or glitches to the forums, or anything that would have a negative effect on the forums.

Your CPU usage will rise and your httpd will jump.

                  Just telling you from now.

Just an FYI, that will be down to 3 file mods in v2.0.

To this date the CMPS has not had one known security issue, and it will not affect your forums in any way.

That's the case with any portal. Any type of dynamic homepage is going to be more strenous than just a static HTML page.
