    Last Activity Vs Last Visit

What exactly is the meaning of last activity in the admin control panel? How could this be a different date than last visit as it seems they are pretty much the same to me

Could someone please explain the difference?

If I remember correctly, lastvisit represents the time that your current session was created, while lastactivity is updated every time you click a link.

Well, look at these figures. Its sorta confusing to figure out.

He's never posted, hence the 1969 date of last post, byt trying to figure the other part out.

It would appear that the session has been continuously running since Dec 18th. This is not unheard of, if you have a very long cookie timeout value, or if the person is visiting your board very very frequently.

The 1969 date of last post indicates a zero value for last post - ie: user has never posted.

Yeah, I know the guy... he generally visits a good bit (reader only). So, the cookie timeout is the prob. Gotcha. Will have to work on that.

Thanks for your input Kier. It was confusing the hell out of me why they wouldn't match, but that makes sense.

Wait, if that was true, wouldn't he have been shown "online" that whole time?

AFAIK lastivisit is the last activity time of the last visit.
It is set when you visit the board the first time after the cookie timeout time passed by. Then lastvisit is set to the old lastactivtiy and lastacitivity becomes the current time.

But to be sure someone has to dig into the code...

That is how I understand it as well.
