    vBulletin was originally written for vB Forums which was a Visual Basic forum running UBB. The v doesn't really stand for anything.

        I always thought vBulletin = Virtual Bulletin, where is where people derive vBB (which is WRONG, as is VB!).

                              I've just generally come to the conclusion it was the next letter in line, after U, which vBulletin was originally derived from.

                              Instead of UBB, it became vB
