Zend... as in Zend Encode? Well then you wouldn't be able to modify them. Despite the fact that we don't -- more correctly can't -- support modifications, it is an excellent advantage of a visible source language. -
Why would they? A major advantage is that it can be modified to suit your needs. I'd switch to phpBB before I used an encrypted message board system.Comment

I would personally go to phpBB... Seems like it it easier to customise than IPB...Comment

You see an awful lot of Zend encoded scripts right now from Russian developers mainly due to the extreme amount of piracy going on over there. I see their point but I won't be buying or recommending their scripts. Devs who encode their work make you wonder just what else they're hiding in the code (trackers, talkers, bots etc.), while also being able to conveniently hide what was coded like crap.
The day VB encodes this board is the day I move on."I can't seem to bring myself to say, 'Well, I guess I'll be toddling along.'
It isn't that I can't toddle. It's that I can't guess I'll toddle."

IIRC from IRC, Scott mentioned something about a vB3 demo that was going to be Zend encoded.
Which makes sense since he said "our customers versions".Comment
