Isn't that the wish of every webmaster?

Heh, my server is doing much better, it runs rather fast with 2000 concurrent users, and starts to really lag at 2500. I still need to optimize the settings a but more, I think I can get it to hold 3000 users, I hope we dont find out if thats the case!

I purchased a 2nd server from servermatrix, the one with "20 Mbps Unmetered Bandwidth!" ... Glad I did, over 100 GIG of bandwidth put out in the last 24hrs.

Front page news on the New York Times today, front page of CNN.com right now. I have had ~80 press contacts in total, I ended up pawning all the reporters to other forum members unless the reporter was from a cycling specific news organization.

The recall of the locks will be in the "tens of millions" ... you know, for $5 Million, I would have deleted that thread before the masses saw it!

I think it was smart to re-route your traffic to alternative news pages to keep all that traffic off your forums......

That should help with the server loads, yes?

Mabey generate a static .html version of the whole thread and host that somewhere, would defentaly keep the load of the database

*nod* I replaced the home page with a 4k static html page, no graphics. I have been asking people to link to the home page, rather then the thread directly. After a few changes to the software, the load is fine. Last night we had 3400 users online with out too much of a problem.
