    Win XP SP2 Tomorrow?

    From:

    [email protected] listserv

It's supposed to be first thing tomorrow - we interviewed Rebecca Norlander
(Group Manager of Microsoft's Security Business and Technology Unit) a week
ago about SP2. But I understand that although it's ready to roll, they are
holding off confirming the release until the very last moment, leaving the
option to withdraw it if a last minute gremlin is found. Worst case is
probably any day now, unless something dire happens, most likely is that
    it's on track for tomorrow
You won't see me upgrade, but .. I don't mind testing this

I already am wondering what would be new in the EULA :P

But I also found enough other sources that claim otherwise.

The Release Candidates are relatively stable, and it has better WiFi support (Yea Baby!)

They also introduced a Security Center application into sys.

Yeah. All Windows Service Packs have been rolled-up versions in the past too. (You just install the latest one, and it includes everything fixed from previous ones.)

I would imagine that you can do that. At work we have SP1 stored on a network share which is where we install it from, though I'm not sure whether it was a download or whether it was extracted from a CD.

ZDnet.co.uk have a report, saying that this sp has been delayed again
But they do state that Microsoft say they still expect to ship the sp sometime this month. Fingers crossed and it might happen.

                  here is the full story

Maybe they need more time to fix newly discovered critical security bugs :P

                        I'm waiting for the final version. When it comes to microsoft, the stable, the better. ^^;

I'd rather have them release it when it is ready rather than release it before it is ready.

I'd rather have no need for such a massive update
