Parrot Question

Hello,

I have a 1 and a half year red belly parrot and today he jumped off his cage and 5 of his back tail feathers fell out. Will they ever grow back?

Last month he lost just one back feature and it never grew back..

Does anyone know?

He will lose almost all his feathers but they will grow back. It is called molting and bird do it occasionally. Especially when they are still babies like yours.

If you are really worried take him to a vet.

I think I am going the vet tomorrow to find out if my parrot is a male or female.

Most animals molt come summer time and the fur / feathres grows back for Winter.

My cat is definately molting just now, I find fur everywhere.
