No thank you. Installing Debian at the moment.

Is it out? I must wait for the final because i'd like to order it on a cdrom.
    That's the end of that!

Why order it on a CDROM when you can download it and burn it to one?

I don't understand why people would want to beta-test a service release...but that's just me.

Its relatively stable I've noticed. So far, only one crash. And that was something I did on my part..

Mabye because there are giant security holes that you are still vunerable to that have been fixed in SP2?

                    Yeah, thats a reason.

Service releases tend to only be a cumulation of all critical updates (although SP2 will include the enhanced firewall and other features). To my knowledge, Microsoft releases all updates as Critical Updates before they even go into a service release.

You might want to read up on XP SP2.... It's not just a big file that has all the sec. updates. XP SP2 is like XP SE.

I'm not going to download SP2 until it is released officially, although I probably will have to buy the CD as I am on dialup.. It looks interesting. The firewall, the new features in IE... but I use Firefox and already have a firewall so there is no point in downloading it right now.. :P Especially downloading it once, then having to download the whole thing all over again the next day when they release it just in time for the download to be complete.

BTW.. ManagerJosh: Is your avatar Voyager (from ST: Voyager)? It looks like it but I cannot see the nacelles... too small.

Well, XP's firewall would consume much less ram considering, as most software firewalls have alot of problems one way or another. and personaly while i like some of firefox's features, i still like IE alot more

Screwups? Hmm...I wonder if this why companies tend to have beta tests, and do NOT release products as a "final version" the first time around...
