    Have you ever been banned from a forum?

    Have you ever been banned from any forums? And why?

    I usually don't try to cause trouble, but there were two times when I was banned. The first time is when I was a part of a help-site for a game, and we started to advertise on another site's community, which made them pretty mad, and everyone from our site got banned.

    Another time, I was banned because I was inactive. That forum had very strange rules.

    have been banned from my own forum before, when hackers hacked it and removed all admins and redid all passes to stuff at about 1am in the morning and little me got a call at about 1:30 am about it because it was a official site i run for universal records at the time, so i had to hack it back and get control again.

      Yup. Form webhostingforums.com (Webhosting Talk);
      It was about Spam filtering and the "mods/adminstrators" object to anyone who uses email filtering lists like SBL, RBL, or SPEWS. And anyone who defends such lists or argues with the admins/mods about the values and merits of each list, they ban them.

      bunch of bafoons run that website. Its no wonder that hte newsgroup users for email, webhosting, unix, linux, windows support all agree that they admins/mods of that site are one-sided and dont know what they are doing.

        I have been banned from my own forum with similar instances and managed to regain controll using phpmyadmin. As for forums that arent mine? Im not a trouble maker but I have been to forums before where they ban you for a week if you post in the wrong place, if your signature is slightly too large, if your signature has too much text...ect. So yea I have been banned quite a few times.

          Ouch, that's a strict forum. They could at least give you some sort of a warning before they suddenly ban you - that's what they do at most of the forums that I go to.

          But hey, all forums are different, with different rules and everything.

                My own site once deleted my administrator account due to database corruption.

                              I was banned from both a board and chat room of a website for liking pokémon. It was a big site too, so I expected them to be a bit more mature than that.

                              I was in another site (were mainly young children went) where this guy posted a link to supposibly funny webpage about why homework sucks. I clicked the link, and found a naked man on my screen pulling open his rear end, followed by a really loud sound "Let's look at some Gay POORRNNOOO" that was so loud it damaged my speakers, and my ears hurt for weeks." A million popups started appearing. I panicked, so I said the f-word in the pokemon chat room. I was instantly perminently banned from both the chat room and the forums with no warning.

                              The porn guy was never even warned.
