vBulletin is the name. It doesn't matter if the "v" means something or not. If memory serves, 'kodak' means nothing yet everyone thinks it does. vBulletin is the name of the software much like "windows" is the name of operating software.

Why did Microsoft named their operating system "Windows" . Isn't there any reason? I think that the reason they named it "windows" is becuase it opens like a real life window. Similarly I think "T" in "T" mobile" stands for telecommunication. If "bulletin" in "vbulletin" means something, then why "V" in "vbulletin" does not mean anything. I think the person who registerd vbulletin.com knows the secret.

This is going to date me a little bit, but I remember back when Windows was a 1.x version and barely was able to run WordPerfect and dBase.

The idea behind the name was the ability to run two pieces of software simultaneously, and the way this worked was by using two side-by-side windows (there were no such things as minimize/maximize buttons, or even a mouse come to think of it).
"I can't seem to bring myself to say, 'Well, I guess I'll be toddling along.'
            It isn't that I can't toddle. It's that I can't guess I'll toddle."

Well, I was going to use "kodak" as an example. I believe it stands for nothing, yet everyone else seems to think it does.

But since I wasn't sure of it ... I decided not to.

Lol yeah, but lets just say it's not what the name implies..sort of like the same with me and my nick (which I've been using for years)

The v in vBulletin stands for 'vBulletin'. vBulletin is a recursive acronym.
                              Running vB since 4-14-2002
