    vBCMS Cost

I know that vBCMS is still a ways out, but has there been any discussion as to what price range it might run. I have found that other CMS seem to run the gamut (from under $100 to $40,000+), so it would be nice to know approximately how much I (as well as others) will need to budget to add this on. Thanks!

Sorry but it is far too early to discuss costs or timing yet.

Will it be in between the $0.01-$5,000,000 range?

Hopefully on the lower end of that spectrum

And can one assume this is project 'Mars' ?

I was hoping it would be free to vBulletin customers. Developing a forum is one thing, but writing a CMS to integrate with vBulletin Forums is another. Unless the dev team has something that can't be reproduced, I will stick with the free CMSs. Its probable that the master minds will create something so extremely handy that entises me into buying it

Jelsoft is a business, they employ a large array of staff, it would not be financially viable to release a free CMS unless they marketed it such that it brings in enough new custom.

I know of several free portals that integrate with vBulletin but have yet to see a free CMS. The proposed product will not be a simple portal page that repackages posts and threads. It will be a Content Management System allowing you to enter in full articles and will most likely include searching and other management features.

I hope it's in the $150 price range. I need 4-6 copies to run my sites. I also need to twist to to not just handle articles but be a catalogue of stores. like show an image of video then show Date, Length, size, etc.

I hope developement starts in May. I will page about 10 pages of suggestions. If done right it could handle articles, Reviews, FAQ's, Topics (?), Image gallery, etc.If you are able to build in the ability to have different types of content and add in different fields as in my video info example VB CMS will be extremely powerful.

I'm coding my own CMS in my spare time (which has been limited due to school but in the summer I should have time to code it). I would have went the Nuke route a long time ago if I didn't have very specific needs when it comes to a CMS.

I would suppose that would mean that it uses the same database, same user table, etc.
