    Do google ad's pay off?

I see them everywhere, but I never click em.

Are they worth having on my website, does anyone make anything off them?

    thanks.

I know a person that owns a travel site that makes $4000+ a month from his AdSense ads.

I don't think many will speak on exactly how much they make since Google will kick you from their program for doing so (at least that is what is said). I've heard some say they didn't make much at all and some say they are making enough to live on it, but I can't really say either way since I don't personally know anyone face-to-face that uses it and makes much .

I think it has to do with the content of the site and the type of visitors it attracts.

Service is by far the best advertising system to date. My only question is how they come out on top when they are paying so much out. My site, www.modtheater.com brings in enough for a little extra cash after the cost of the dedicated server is met.

                      What can I say?
Once we hit $1000+/month, google kicked us out of the program, refusing to tell us why etc.
Giving them another shot on another site though, but I'm not going to be overly optimistic

The reason can't be just the money. They are getting their own share of the profit, so they would shoot themselves in the foot if they kick you for making too much. Maybe you violated their TOS with some modifications you did to your site?

I agree...can't be the money. I personally know people who earn more than that...double it, triple it and aren't kicked out of the program. When that happened, what did they explain? Google has been courteous, helpful, and polite when dealing with customer service issues. Ask! I know they will answer.

Many users seem to forget to remove the banners from their registration, memberlist and other against-the-tos pages. When they come check and find something against their TOS, they suspend you from their account. Quite a normal response I'd say.

I think users aren't allowed to disclose how much they earn - frankly I am not to fund of disclosing income from a site either because it is something that is for 'behind the scene'.
