    Question about bannings

I just have a generic question.

note: I am not an owner of a vbulletin. I just use them a lot.

A member of a forum I go to gets a ban message when he's at his dad's house. If he goes anywhere else and goes on, he can post, and his username is not banned.

We've asked the administrator to look to see if his IP is banned, and it's not. Furthermore, the IP is not partially banned either. We have no idea what could be causing this. Do you guys know of any possible ideas to look into to see what could be causing this problem?

    Thanks a lot

It sounds like an IP ban to me. I can't think of any other reasons for this.

Yeah, I know. It's just like an IP ban, but his IP is not banned. :-/

Sorry. You'll need to ask the license holder to contact us for more direct support. As I said I can't think of any other reason for this.

Okay. Thanks a lot for your help, though.

I'm leaning torwards IP ban as well. Ask the admin if there are any IP ranges that are banned.

The most likely cause is an incorrect entry in the IP ban or a hard return where there should have been a space.

some servers can ban users like AOL

if your ISP was banned you then that ban page will show up

Maybe his IP was banned at the server level. That might be a reason why he cant access the site while his IP isn't showing up as banned on the admin cp.

A vBulletin 'ban message' would look different then an ISP 'ban message', wouldn't it?
