You have a good design, but for critique's sake, a different mix of colors would be better.

it got me mad when i couldnt get it how i wanted it, and ive re-instated the vbulletin default for the time being, im working on the style on another unused space till i get it how i like it.

The main problem is that when i get it how i like on the forum i look at the portal page and it doesn't look right, and when i change it to look right on the phpportal page it doesnt look right on my forum page, is it possible would you know to specify a different style sheet or edit the templates in a way as to keep the vbulletin forum colours seperate to the vbportal?

thanx for all your time anyway

Instead of using bulky and combersome vbPortal, try switching to vbIndex or a similar hack. They're 100% free, with free support, and you can find them at vbulletin.org
              :)
