Pro - Nice colors

Yeah, but what's so bad about phpPortal? His design is VERY nice.

yeah, colors are nice. and phpportals are nice, and other things like that, but it doesnt really show innovation in design work, rather just taking a template and editing it with images, instead of making a complete custom design. still looks good nontheless.

He obviously has the skills to make some decent graphics, he should ditch that portals hack and make a nice front page.

What about vbHome and vbHome (Lite)? Are those good?

i went to phpportals to find the download and its not even there. they got a walk thru for configuring your system for it but there is no link to down load it

If you register, you will see there is a link at the top of the page on the portal.

That's cause the sites you've seen have chosen not to customize it to that level. I agree a lot of sites look the same and mines no different. It suits my needs. I have seen some that look nothing like vbPortal as well though. If I come across the URLs again I'll post them. The thing is, people spend most of their time in the forums anyways and I haven't seen ANY original designs for it that change it so it doesn't look like vbulletin. The best I've seen is yaxay.com.
