You will need to have it work in conjunction with tables.
Basically, what I do is make a graphic that's 760px wide, and have the rest of the table's width set to 100% with a tiling background.:) -
So you saying that create a background/pic of 760 px wide and all the graphic be placed in a table?Comment

What I'm saying is something like this:
You first make a background of what your "main" header is. This can be stripes, scan lines, or just a blank color. Save that as an image, and set it as a table's background color in your header.
Then, you go and make your header. Make sure that it "fits" into your table background's tiling. Then, just save that and plop it onto the same table, and you're done!:)Comment

Let's see if I understand you correctly;
Make an image then place it in a table eg:
<BG="image.jpg>
Then your logo has to be using th background image as your background of the logo?
Correct?Comment

One more question.
Is it advisable to make the logo graphic transparent so that it can be merged into the background seamlessly?Comment

One big trick for you that will save time after you figure out the tables:
leftmargin="0" rightmargin="0" topmargin="0" bottommargin="0"
you get the idea..Comment
