How easy to put a 3.6.8 skin to 3.8 or 4.2?

Hey,

I have a skin on a 3.6.8 forum that I really want to keep, its a custom skin that cost a lot so I really don't want to lose it.

How far can I upgrade from 3.6.8 without having major changes?
I'm sure 4.2 will be a major upgrade, but just how much of an extent has the template system is changed?
I just have the site on a localhost right now and going to try an upgrade to see how it goes, it is from a site I lost years ago and just got things back - It is a very custom skin - https://web.archive.org/web/20090309....deuceace.com/

It's not easy to convert skin from 3.6.8 skin to 3.8 or 4.2. You need to build your cms in 4.2 and design its skin the same 3.6.8 or 3.8

3.6 to 3.8 is not a major leap so shouldn't be too much work. It's mainly going to be additional pages such as Groups that were added in 3.7.

Any style on vB3 is not remotely compatible with vB4 so would nee rebuilding from the ground up. The styling system is completely different.
