    [vB4] Vb styles and versions

    Guys,

Would it be a problem if I upgrade to a newer version while still using a style for a previous version?
I am running a vb 4.0.6. The style I am using is for 4.0.6 as well.
Now, planning to upgrade to 4.0.7/8 without upgrading the style.
Is there a problem doing that?
    i.e. technically or in security?

I have written this thread in another section of the forum, but I have not get enough info.
I hope this is the write place to get my answer
    Regards

In the main, the style should be OK. As in your other thread, the upgrader will try to merge any template changes into any you've customised and reprt on logging into the AdminCP whether they've been successful or not.

If you're worried about doing it on your live site, try it out first on a test site - see this article for more:

      Cheers Trevor,

      Will do as you said.
But, I am more worried about the security issues. The test site should be alright, assuming that I am the only one who can see it. But, if I were to try it on the "real" forum and a bug might merge out of no where, I might ended up being hacked and getting stuck- again...
