Unique images for each different forum

hello everyone and excuse my poor knowledge on all of this, i'm sure this question has already been asked a lot of times, i just couldn't really find any when i tried searching.

i'm looking for a plugin or just some sort of setting to make each topics in main forum has unique images. i thought http://forums.explosm.net/ would make a good example, i really wanted to have this look for my forum for a long time and actually that page that made me switch to vbulletin.

hope someone can help me out.

Those are forum status images that you can do on your forum as well:

Forum and Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Select a Forum

Scroll down to Prefix for Forum Status Images

For example, you have Forum1, Forum2, and Forum3

For Forum1: Prefix for Forum Status Images: f1_

For Forum2: Prefix for Forum Status Images: f2_

For Forum3: Prefix for Forum Status Images: f3_

    Thats it,

Just be sure you have f1_forum_old.gif, f1_forum_new.gif, etc., uploaded into your statusicon directory.

And they do not need to start with f1_, that is just an example.
