    Installing a style

I searched but could not find an answer...
I am a phpbb transplant, so the learning begins here.

I downloaded a style I want to use. Where do I install it?
Do I have to create a folder?

    Thanks

You usually only have to upload the images onto your server and then import the xml file via the Admin CP.

Is there a certain folder for uploading the images?

        that depends on the style

you can upload the xml file and then go to Styles & Templates>Style Manager>(go to the theme you are working with and hit go for all style options)> scroll down to where it says image paths and you will see where you should be putting your images

Thanks for the reply. I'm following so far.

          2 questions:

If I upload the images, won't they overwrite the existing images?
          (I know they will)

What if I wanted to make multiple styles available for my users?
How would I go about keeping the images from the different styles
          separate?

You should create a new subdirectory for the images to this style and use that in your Image Path settings.

I created a folder, uploaded the images, and imported the XML file.
However, only 2 or 3 of the graphics changed. I also changed the
path for the images in the admin cp. What am I missing?

Not all styles change every single graphic in vBulletin. Which style did you install?

                  It's called Red 2 Black

What I was trying to say was - Only 2 or 3 of the images changed.
Even the basic colors of the default style remained the same.

i don't think you made the style "active"
make sure it is by going into the admincp>styles & templates>style manager>go to the style and open the drop down and select "edit settings"
make sure Allow User Selection is ticked off on yes

when going to your site, you over wrote the default images with the red to black ones.

what is the name of the folder you made and what is the path you put in?

I checked and the "allow user selection" is checked yes.

I created a new folder "forums/imagesr2b/" and added all the
                      folders and files.

I'm sure I'm just missing a setting or something.

you want to make sure all the paths are correct.

look at the image i attatched and you'll see where i mean to change

Yes, I did that. I changed all the paths from "images/"
                          to "imagesr2b/"
