I think another issue is that when you do it on a webmaster board that has a lot of VB Members already then they can also vote whereas people on a non webmaster type of board won't be able to vote as they are unlikely to own a licence. Like the previous people said its up to Scott at the end as its his comp.

I don't understand what you mean there psplounge... why would those votes not be genuine...? to be elligible to vote I was under the impression you must either be a vB customer or one of the named persons in the email addresses you can put in your customer area. Why on earth would they not be genuine? Of course they are.

Best-Board gets my vote.... and I'm glad it's been sorted out without them being disqualified.

                I have set a penalty
I will improve the guide lines text to make it more clear by adding an example of what rallying is.
What a joke. Maybe it should be clear before you start handing out pentalties. For example, no where in your document does it say anything about things that happen outside of this board. So I guess if I have a site on the vote all my competition has to do is start asking for votes for my site somewhere I have no control over?

You can't police the world and your attempt to do so completely invalidates the results of these contests.

                  Wow....

You'd think being a member at a forum would mean you could read. It says rallying for votes in general. It says you either may point out the features in the thread, as well as "mention the fact the board is in the contest", now, use common sense, pointing out the forum is in the contest in the voting thread seems sort of pointless, does it not?

First of all it never mentions other boards. If a rule covers something that another person does on another board, that should be spelled out clearly.

It's silly to assume that people would read those guidlines ad infer that someone not in the contest making a post on another board is cause for punishment.

Seems all I have to do to make a mockery of this contest is pick the board I like the least each month and start rallying for votes for it.

Voted for Best-Board.com. Personally, my thought is Best-board did nothing wrong, and considering how many admins more than likely go sending PM's / emails (that are never seen) at least the gentlemen at best-board placed a thread for the public to see, and did not cover up anything they were doing. Had it clearly be stated in the rules so that there was no confusion, then I am sure they would never had made the intitial post.

Best-board is a great contributer to the vbulletin community. As a forum owner, I am thankful they exist and appreciate the contributions they have made, and continue making. Good luck to everyone in this months contest. May the best board win (Pun intended)

You are in no position to publically cricisize the way S.Molinari runs things, these types of criticisms should be private. It still does generally address rallying, meaning that the administrators here are the ones that have the right to interpret and address the rules as they see fit.

Sorry if I came on somewhat rude, but if you do have criticisms on how the contest is run, address them privately with S.Molinari if you could.

Excuse me, James, but surely you have better things to do? It's not *that* big of an issue, so why waste time bothering with it?

Anyway for what its worth I picked volconvo.com. It looks simple, clean, and intelligent, and seems to me to be very fitting for the community it caters to, and if I were looking to join another board, I think it would be quite an attractive choice.
