    converting help needed(making logo transparent)

Well, included is an attachment of my school's logo, and I need the background to be transparent. I can't seem to do it for some reason on the gimp...so I turn to the vbulletin community for help. It would greatly be appreciated, thank you.

if you need in JPEG format i doubt you can have it transparent Bg, i can provide you with a color of your choice in the Bg if you need it JPEG...

Try it in gif or PNG format in your GIMP it will have a transparent Bg...

Thank you; ~Xcalibur~, bfoot045, miner for the help. I finally got it figured out that jpg's can't be transparent (which i kinda knew somewhat) and that what I was trying to do in gimp was not possible...
