Front page ideas

For some reason upgrading to 3.5 has caused the feeds on my front page to stop working, which I would guess is to do with changes in the way config.php operates now.

I could take a note of my database details and put them elsewhere, however in the spirit of "there are no problems, only opportunities" I thought I'd use this as a chance to revamp my front page a bit. I'm looking for a bit of inspiration though, so I thought I'd post here and see if could get some links to other front pages get some ideas.

N.B. I'm aware of some excellent alternatives to DIY front pages like vB Index, but I'm just looking for ideas as I've got some non-vB content to add into it as well.

i chose vbadvnaced cmps because it is very customizable.. Its a great portal as it comes with so many modules that will suit everyones needs. besides that you can customize your own module to suit your needs and make your front page stand out than a just a forum..

well thats my opinion. everyone got a bit of taste.

Think I'll start to consider it, although I'm not sure about how I'm going to integrate my non-vB content into it. Thanks Axi.
