category bar picture

I want to change the bar where the category title is to a picture. like in the attached pics.

attachment 1 is what it looks like now.

attachment 2 is what I want to change it to.

Been searching and reading, but have not found what Im looking for yet.

Ok, I found what I needed to know... but I have another question. when changing the different colors in the table headers or footer header, what is the syntax for adding a .jpg or .gif instead of a different color?
