Idea : Free Skin Pack

Ok well some of you may or may not know about me and my vB skins.

For those who do I,ll need no introduction. For those who dont think www.artorg.co.uk , www.coreforums.net , www.mgforums.com

The idea is simple but effective.

The Idea

Skin Makers reply to this thread stating they wish to take part.

What wil happen is a deadline will be set and in that time each will work to create a Free Skin that is made to the best of there ability.

Once this is complete each skin will be packaged and sent to me.

I will then add my own creation aswell as adding all the skins to a downloadable .exe which will showcase and contain the skins ready for vBulletin users to work with.

This may be the first of many packs we,ll see.

This is aimed at providing high quality skins for free to the vB community, maybe with some support from staff this could become a new vB regular.


Ideas
Please suggest ways for this to work etc as I may set upa small site or have a ring of sites mirror the final package.

Also maybe themed packs the first of which could be based on a re-design of the default skin

I rather have a .zip with .html files that will showcase things instead of a .exe file which can hold virus,trojans,works, and other unforseen mishaps like trace info, etc. Yes, I am paranoid (each windows user should be).

This is quite a nice idea and if I didn't only have 24 hours in a day, I'd participate.

The exe would be made using Director and thus will stay virus free

The thing with an .exe is that you can't see what is inside, I don't quite like that. That is all. Having a .zip with something like .html files will mean linux/mac/windows users can all benefit from it.

This would be a nice addition. That's the "only" problem I have with vBulletin is that there are absolutely no free templates or skins worth using out there. I mean the people that buy the board would atleast expect to get a few templates to choose from instead of having to spend an extra $30-$??? for a decent looking template. I actually do graphics design but only have psp8 and have no idea how to design a template for vB or I'd jump right on it. Although I did win a design contest over at BBBoy fourms about a year ago. If someone can give me a tutorial or something on dimensions and so on I'll be happy to add to this "free skin pack" as long as it always stays free ofcourse.
