Non English characters sometimes show symbols "?" in threads

This is bit of a long shot and I can't remember how I fixed this on another forum that I've installed, but it appears to create weird symbols. It seems to actually be "......."

currently it is looking like this
    Code:
    你愛我嗎?
can anyone be able to assist on how to fix this?

What encoding method are you using?

You can try switching to utf-8 to see if the characters are displayed correctly. But it also depends on how your database was setup.

Otherwise, we need more information such as a link to where this happening and what language/character set you are using.

Encoding options can be set in your config.php and in your site language settings via the AdminCP. You can check the database collation settings via a tool such as phpmyadmin.

They are all currently in UTF-8. It's using a Chinese language pack.

ok for anyone who hasn't figured it out, I managed to recollect what I did awhile back. I believe it has to do with word wrap, you can set it to 0

in admincp>thread display option (I think it was here) I forgot already sorry, but the main thing was it has to do with word wrap
