    German for vB 4 available?

Is there a German language pack for vBulletin 4 available, where?
If not, does the existing latest 3.x package work properly?

    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

Not on this forum for the moment, no idea if they released one at vBulletin-Germany.com though. However, yes, you can use vB 3 language packs as well, even if they will miss some phrases and have some that need to be updated.

You can find the german language pack here:

Pogo will update his thread at vb.com as well.

            Horrible!

I wanted to install the german language pack into 4.0.1 so that I can offer that German speaking users can select German as their language for their viewing. But the install instructions for the German language pack are only in German! So I just installed the first xml file and now my whole control panel has switched to German and I am buggered!

How can I get English back?

How do I install German AS AN OPTION for the user.

Suggestion: Make installation instructions in English also! This is a nightmare if the whole forum switches languages and you can no longer navigate your own adminCP!!!

Just read the post with the attachment:
Install the xml (du or sie) with zusatzsprache in the filename.
If you want to have german as the masterlanguage, choose hauptsprache.
Run /install/finalupgrade.php to get your english master language back.

                Mike,

There is the 402SprachePaket which I assume is for the Forum or does it include all three, forum, blog, cms? Will there be an issue to install the 401SprachePaket for CMS and BLOG?

                    Danke

Side note: Hauptsprache is labeled as master in the name and zusatzsprache is custom. In the package that I downloaded it wasn't labeled as mentioned above.

We have chosen to use new filenames so it will be clear for non-german users just by looking at the filename.
