    Unapprove: disapprove/reject or undo approve?

What does "Unapprove Threads" (variable name unapprove_threads) mean exactly? Both Dutch translations say "afkeuren" (disapprove, reject). But I'm under the impression it means "Undo approve", because my vB refuses to unapprove threads that haven't first been approved. Am I right?

And what exactly is an "unapproved attachment", "unapproved thread" or "unapproved post"?

Unapproved would mean more or less 'awaiting approval'.

Oh hang on, "unapproved" does not mean "approval undone", but: "requires approval and is not yet approved".

So when a new thread/post/attachement is posted that requires moderation it starts unapproved. When someone approves it's approved. Then when someone unapproves, it's unapproved again.

      Is my understanding correct?

This discussion must sound silly to native English speakers But I'm trying to understand both the functionality and the exact meaning of the words for a proper translation. Please bear with me.

But "unapprove" means, take back approval right? Cuz it is a verb.

Unapprove is the opposite of approve. It makes a post/thread/whatever moderated again.
