    VBulletin-Japan

I live in Japan and I would think it would be great to have VBulletin-Japan, Yesterday I was talking to some of my friends that could be able to translate VB into Japanese language; I was thinking about starting a Vbulletin-Japan I was just wondering the legality of doing it? Is it allowed or do I need to get special permission to do so, or would I be wasting my time.

    Thank you,

Just make sure the site has a liecence copy. Then you can edit the forum phrases into Japanese.

When you create your "forums" you can have them in the native tounge as other sites do the same thing. But create another "Lanague" file when translating so you have a reference.

Since the site could not have any afflication with vB.com and if you do release the pack, it is asked to release it here on vB.com so only members and vaild liecence members can download it.

the text in the posts generally is fine for asian languages, but sometime get errors as well.

you have to do a make a full language pack if you realllly want it to "work" (like get the admin functions and buttons and stuff in Japanese) or else the text breaks a lot when posting

        (tried it for korean)

I had a halfway-translated version in the works about 6 months ago. I gave it to somebody to help me and haven't really heard much about it since then.

I think VB needs a bigger fanbase in Japan.

Thanks Diver and Chousho for your comment! I tried translating the admin CP. Howerver, I think we should let the admin cp in English so we can install mod and addon easily! I am using utf-8 econding now. Next is try shift-jis if any one have time and interested in translating please contact me.
                      Thanks
