  • Recovering App Crash Reports

    In order to help diagnose bugs and error reports it would be very helpful if you submitted the bug and crash reports generated by the apps in your JIRA issue report. These crash reports will be located within your Apple App Store or Android Marketplace developer's sites. Below, we have outlined the steps to recover these. Once recovered, you will need to either copy and paste them into the JIRA issue report as a comment or attach the resulting file to the JIRA Issue Report.

    iOS Issue Reports.
    1. Visit the Apple Provisiong Portal at https://itunesconnect.apple.com
    2. Enter your User ID and Password to log in.
    3. Click on Manage Apps
    4. Select the App that reported the Issue
    5. Click View Details.
    6. On the View Details screen there will be a Crash Reports button. Each version of iOS will have its own Tab.
    7. Select the appropriate version of iOS as obtained from the end-user reporting the issue.
    8. Click on the download button next to the Crash Reports to download them.
    9. Attach the resulting ZIP file to your JIRA Issue.


    Android Crash Reports
    1. Visit your Android Developer Console (http://market.android.com/publish)
    2. Login if needed using your User ID and Password.
    3. Find the App with the reported problem in your list of Apps and click Errors on its row.
    4. The next screen will report "Freezes" and "Crashes" along with some statistics. If there are error reports, they will be linked.
    5. Click on the Error Reports Link (e.g. 6 New)
    6. The errors will be shown inline on the next page. Click on an an Error title will show the error in detail.
    7. You will need to copy and paste the stack traces show into a JIRA Issue Comment.
    8. At the top of the screen, you will see a link labeled "Show User Messages". Click This.
    9. A user message should be show that corresponds with the error. If filled out properly it tells us what they were doing at the time of the error. Copy and paste this into the JIRA Issue Comments as well.


    It is crucial that you provide as much information about the error as possible so that we can resolve them quickly.
