The number of current active users on my forum went crazy. We usually have approx. 300 users online at the same time, max. This problem started yesterday, the statistic shown over 6000 users online...

What happened to the users online? Shut it off to lessen the strain on the server?
Traffic must be enormous with everyone wanting a look at 3.7. Site is slow loading forum and thread pages.
