vBulletin 2.3.0
It's release time again! After a lot of testing to be as certain as we can be that this version is without bugs, we are proud to present vBulletin 2.3.0. We hope that this will be the outing for the vBulletin 2 series, allowing us to dedicate our full resources to the forthcoming vBulletin 3 public beta.
vBulletin 2.3.0 includes several bug-fixes although none of these are security related. (A list is included below, and in the announcements for the release candidate versions). This is now the 'stable' version of vBulletin for production use.
Please note that upgrading to vBulletin 3 (when it becomes available) will not require you to be running vBulletin 2.3.0, although we do recommend that you upgrade your forums regardless of this.

Backing up forums
Please be sure to check your backups, that they are complete before continuing with an upgrade. We had reports that PHP was causing time out errors when creating the back up SQL, and this was causing for incomplete or corrupted backups. The safest way to do a backup is to use the mysqldump utility through telnet, as it will not suffer from any such problems.
