a few 229 issues i cant seem to resolve

Hi there,

I just helped a friend to upgrade his board from 2.2.4 to 2.2.9 and everything seemed to go fine.

We just run into a few issues that I can't seem to resolve because the templates seem ok and the code in the files too.

1- The online/offline ($onlinestatus in postbit template parsing postbit_online/offline) always shows offline.

2- The views in a forum for threads doesn't update. (and on my own forum if i enter a thread, and return, it counts 2 extra, 2..4...6...)

3- And this happens on both his forum and on my own - Most users ever online was 6 on 30-11-2002 at 20:52.

This is always the same ammount as is 'currently' online.

I could really use some advice in resolving this.

Restart your server. I doubt that'll work, but it's worth a shot.
Let me know if any of the problems are fixed.

Thank you for your quick reply, but it is unfortn. virtual hosting ; and I am not so sure they will reboot their whole server just for 1 account. And; what might it do? That fixes this?


His server runs php 4.0.x (where x was a 3 or a 6) - could that be an issue with 2.2.9 ?

I know when rebooting the server it sometimes fixed the problem with the
views not working, that's why I suggested it.

If his PHP version is 4.0.3, that could be the problem there. vBulletin is designed to work on any server with PHP 4.0.4 or higher installed...

Uhm.
I am glad my own site has 4.3.2 or 4.2.3 or whatever it was.
I will suggest an upgrade to his hosting provider.

I just quickly installed freddie's 'quick stats' hack and this were the results:

Quick Stats
Server Type
Linux / PHP v4.0.6 Safe Mode

MySQL
v3.23.41

Might want to change hosts too considering that is an incredibly ancient version of PHP and they don't seem to be bothered up upgrade on their own.

Now lets see if I can fix those other errors, we run into a new one too, popup is selected to popup on a new PM, but it doesn't seem to popup.

Open functions.php from your admin/ directory and change the 0 to a 1 and save and upload it to the server again, overwriting the old version.
