Now this is NOT my hack, it's simply directions on how to add that loved spell check back. Sorry if its messy, but its almost 4AM here.
1. Sign up for the FREE service here at spellcheck.net.
2. When you get their email, save and open the spch.js and make the folloing changes.
Find:
frmSpell
Replace With:
vbform
3. Download THIS zip file from the spellchecker site. Then open it, and rename sproxy.phtml to sproxy.php
4. Now in your FTP, make a new DIR in your MAIN forums DIR called spellcheck.
5. Now upload all the files from the zip, and the spch.js file, to the spellcheck DIR you just created.
6. Open sproxy.ini Edit the url paths, and change sproxy.phtml to sproxy.php Then save and upload it back to the spellcheck DIR.
Your new paths should look like this:
$spch_js_path = 'http://mysite/forums/spellcheck/spch.js';
$sproxy_url = 'http://mysite/forums/spellcheck/sproxy.php';
7. And LAST, go into editpost, newthread, newreply, and priv_sendprivmsg templates, and remove the <!-- and the --> around the
located near the top of each template, and the
located near the bottom of each template.
I will be happy to answer any questions, but I mean, I tried to make it as simple as possible to follow.
