upgrading to RC2 from Beta 7

And I get hung on the upgrade4 install.

    What gives?

This is what the screen says:

    vBulletin 3 Upgrade System
(Please be patient as some parts may take some time)

Step 4) Import latest options (Step 4 of 8)
    Step 4) Import latest options

I have no clue as to why its doing this. I've waited for like 10 minutes and nothing happened.

I'm on a campus ethernet connection and I've had very little problems in the past regarding Beta upgrades. But this just beguiles the bejeebers out of me. I uploaded (twice) clean xml files and made sure that all the files were up to date with RC2 release. After that, I'm just stuck.
    Help!

What is the specific script that is running at the time (look at your address bar)? You should actually go through step 4 three times going from Beta 7 to RC2.

Can you confirm what version your upgrading from?

            Beta 7 to RC2

            you should run
upgrade.php and it should take you to upgrade5.php and then progress through the scripts to upgrade7.php

I'm upgrading from 3 Beta 7 to the current release candidate 2.

I did run upgrade.php (I use the .php3 tag) and it did the first three steps fine. Then, when it gets to the importers, it just stops.

              The entire tag:

Do you have all the vBulletin 3 RC2 files uploaded? You need to upload every file.. Delete vBulletin 3 Beta 7 and upload the RC2 files.

I thought you could overwrite the files. I should just delete all the files, save the config.php3 file, and then run the upgrade file again?

When going to the link that you provided, the CSS file is not loaded. This tells me that you haven't uploaded every file in the vBulletin 3 zip file. This is required for the scripts to run properly.

Config.php3? What version of PHP are you using?

The Config.php3 is the base code I've been using since using the old 2.0.4 phpbb board. I updated it with all current VBB stuff.

I'm going to do a fresh download and fresh upload into all the directories. I'll be back.

My original point here.... Why are you using the PHP3 extension? What version of PHP are you using?

After a fresh install, you should not be running an upgrade script. There is also no CSS styling. What is the FTP access for your site? You can send it to me by private messaging because I do not think you are uploading all 282 files in the same folders as they appear in the ZIP file as. This is crucial.

Reupload the 'functions_xml.php3' file to your includes directory and make sure it is world-readable.

Wayne, I meant to say that I had done a fresh upload onto my harddrive before re-uploading all the material back onto the server. To answer the earlier question, I've always ran the php3 extension after first signing up with Vbb. I just never though about changing the extension.

Steve, I've uploaded the functions_xml.php3 file and the upgrade went smoothly. Now this error comes up.

Fatal error: Failed opening required './includes/functions_forumlist.php3' (include_path='.:/php/includes:/usr/share/php') in /home/virtual/site1/fst/var/www/html/TRS3/includes/functions.php3 on line 2176
