    Can't even start with upgrade

    I have uploaded all VB3 files, deleted old and went into ....upgrade.php and I get this error message.

    Database error in vBulletin :
    Invalid SQL: ALTER TABLE vb3_template ADD version varchar(30) NOT NULL DEFAULT ''
    mysql error: Table 'hobyohio_org.vb3_template' doesn't exist
    mysql error number: 1146

    Have you tried installing into a new empty database just to see if that will work? If your successful doing that, then I would create a new empty database and import your sql backup into it, then try the upgrade.

      This is probably because you entered a prefix for the db name. You need to use the same db info in config.php as for your vB2 database.

        What do you mean by a prefix? My database name is "hobyohio_org" I uploaded and installed VB3 using a new database and now how to I import the VB2 database?

          I mean this:

          ALTER TABLE vb3_template

          You need to remove the prefix from your config.php file so the upgrade script can find the actual db tables.

            OK, I see now. That is a little confusing because it is not listed in the instructions.
