If you have a newer version of php change php_gd.dll to php_gd2.dll to use the newer version of GD.

I restarted Apache, rebooted the machine, pulled out all my hair! What else can I do?

I FINALLY got it to work. I appears the first time I ran the upgrade23.php file it didn't actually update all the file it should have. I ran it a 2nd time and it works fine!!!

Same problem here. GD is enabled, uploaded all the new files, ran the upgrade23.php, register_imagebit template installed. Red X, no image when registering. Plain and simple, it isn't working

I have just released vB 2.3.0 RC3 to deal with this problem.
